Description: Ålsheia skisenter was established over 30 years ago and has now merged with Tjørhomfjellet to form Sirdal Fjellheiser - one of the largest skiing centres in Norway, with a 4 seat express chairlift and 9 drag lifts. There is also a new park area, and floodlit skiing 3 evenings a week. From late January 2008 it is now possible to ski from Ålsheia to Tjørhomfjellet and back again

Location description:: Ålsheia skisenter is less than 2 hours drive from Stavanger Norway, between Sinnes and Svartevatn in Sirdal, close to the junction of the FV 468 road with the RV 45 from the Stavanger area. It is close to Tjørhomfjellet ski centre, and the two may connect in the future.

Park facilities: There are jumps, a quarter pipe, rails, and a new park layout in 2007
facilities for beginners:: There is a conveyer belt near the Ålsheia cafe for real beginners, and a large beginners area on the Huldreheimen side of Tjørhomfjellet. Aalsheia is mainly a resort popular with more experienced skiers

evening skiing:: On the Ålsheia side 3 evenings a week, with skibus on Wednesday from Stavanger

prices:: A daycard is 300 kr (230 for children over 7) - covering all 10 lifts in both Tjorhomfjellet and Aalsheia

Directions: From Stavanger go south on the E 39 to Ålgård, then turn left on the RV 45 - through Oltedal, Dirdal, Gilje, Byrkjedal and Hunnedalen to Sirdal. Turn left onto the FV 468 - the centre is then 1.5 km on the left, car parking both sides of the road. From Egersund or Flekkefjord take RV 42 then FV 468

Public transport options: Skibus services to both Ålsheia and Tjørhomfjellet each weekend and holidays from Stavanger - Sandnes and Hommersak - Sandnes, plus evening bus to Aalsheia from Stavanger on Wednesday
