Description: Sirdal Fjellheiser no longer exists. It was formed by the merger of Aalsheia skisenter and Tjørhomfjellet Sirdal Alpint, for the 2007-2008 season and ended in 2009. It is still possible to ski both skisenters BUT YOU NEED 2 skipasses in 2011! Combined it has 15 runs, nine drag lifts (button or T-bar), 1 chairlift, beginners rope tow and conveyer belt. There are also park areas.
Huldreheimen beginners area
Location description:: Less than 2 hours drive from Stavanger Norway, with 2 centres close to Sinnes and Svartevatn in Sirdal, close to the junction of the FV 468 road with the RV 45 from the Stavanger area. Tjørhomfjellet ski centre is just before the junction, Ålsheia Alpint is just after it.

normal season length:: From before Christmas to after Easter or beyond, snow permitting. Sirdal Fjellheiser has invested in high capacity snow-making equipment for when the cold weather comes
Number of food / drink options: 2
Food and Drink: There is a large warm cafe at Aalsheia at the bottom of the main slopes, with tables outside. IsSlottet is the main cafe on the Tjørhomfjellet chairlift side. You can also get hot and cold food and drink at the Ski rental shop on the Huldreheimen side
Park facilities: There are jumps, a quarter pipe, rails, and a new park layout on the Aalsheia side
facilities for beginners:: The Huldreheimen side of Tjorhomfjell has a beginners rope tow that is perfect for first starting to ski. Beside it is a button lift and (mainly) green run down. Aalsheia also has a conveyer belt

evening skiing:: Yes - 3 evenings a week at the Aalsheia side, with skibus on Wednesday from Stavanger

Directions: From Stavanger go south on E 39 to Ålgård, then left on the RV 45 - through Oltedal, Dirdal, Gilje, Byrkjedal and Hunnedalen to Sirdal. Park at Tjorhomfjellet just before the FV468 or turn left for Aalsheia 1.5 km after the junction From Egersund or Flekkefjord take RV 42 then FV 468

Public transport options: Skibus services to both centres each weekend and holidays from Stavanger - Sandnes and Hommersak - Sandnes, plus evening bus to Aalsheia from Stavanger on Wednesday

Ski School: Yes, ski school is available for individuals or small groups. Book in advance. See Sirdal Ski & Brett Skole
Ski Rental: The Tjorhomfjellet ski rental shop is on the Huldreheimen side, and the Aalsheia ski rental shop is with the cafe, at the bottom of the main slopes, 300m up from the carpark
OffPiste: From the top of the chairlift it is possible to ski off-piste over quite a large area - at your own risk.
