Dalsnuten

For the best view down over the peninsula of Stavanger and surrounding islands this 2 km walk to the top of the Dalsnuten is a must for all visitors who enjoy walking. It can be very blustery on the top so remember your windproofs. This is some of the most beautiful countryside close to Stavanger.

view on the way up The start of the walk is along an easy gravel footpath, suitable for prams and bikes, to picturesque lake Revholstjorn, surrounded by beautiful open-grazing. A perfect picnic spot for families.
The path is then a gradual climb up the hillside.
There is a short, steep climb over rocks to the top. The view over the fjord from the top is spectacular.
To return, there is an alternative path along the other (south) side of lake Revholstjorn back to the carpark.
There are many possibilities to extend the walk further in this area. From Revholstjorn lake continue on to Dale and even further through the valley to Li. Alternatively, the return walk back from Dalsnuten back to the carpark can be extended via Fjogstad
Note: If you depend upon bus as transport to get here, Dale can be used as an easier starting point for walking, although not so picturesque at the start.
