Jupiter the Newcastle ferry goes off into the sunset Named Wellamo when built in France 30 years ago, it was operated by Fjord Line from 1998. It was previously named the Color Viking on the same route 1994 - 1998.

It is uncertain at the moment what will happen with the route, but from late November there will be one crossing per week, and Fjord Norway may switch from the Bergen - Egersund - Hanstholm (Denmark) route as a replacement.

Jupiter finished on 26 September and departed for a new life running across the Gulf of Mexico.

We have often travelled with it and have fond memories.

The picture was taken after midnight around midsummer 2005 just north of Stavanger.
