Bergen Lysfesten - Festival of Lights

This is a family-friendly festival to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. It attracts around 20 000 - 30 000 people each year.
It is sponsored and organised by Bergens Tidende, the local newspaper.

This is a torch-light procession around Lille Lungegårdsvann lake in central Bergen, with illuminated buildings and a concert on an outside stage of festive songs.
It is followed by a great fireworks display.
It is held on the first Saturday evening in December.
