Viste to Vistnes coastal walk

Beautiful 3km coastal walk from the beach at Viste to the lighthouse at Vistnes. The walk passes beside several small beaches, through farmland and across open rocky area to Vistnes small boat harbour and the lighthouse up on the cliffs beyond.

old small boat moorings everywhere

Vistnes boat and boathouses The path begins for 0.5km as a gravelled trail passing the diving platforms, another tiny beach and a small boat harbour.

At the end of this gravelled section, you can make a small diversion up to the road away from the coast to see Svarthola (Black Hole), a small cave and stone age site.
The path then becomes much narrower and muddy in places before finally opening out into a large open rocky area gently dipping down to the sea. Vistnes village and lighthouse are visible in the distance.

Along the way you will see a sign to nearby Vistnestunet, an old working farm open to visitors.
