Furuåsen and Sinnes Skiing in Sirdal

The Furuåsen area in Sirdal is an area of prepared tracks for cross-country skiers. There are marked loops ranging from 3km to 10km for all grades of skiers. In the Spring, families will stop to grill sausages on disposable barbeques at the favourite sunny, sheltered spots and kids get together for "bum-boarding".

surprisingly few people use these tracks on the 10 km loop

crossing Svartevatn lake near Sinnes petrol station This is a fantastic place to come for cross-country skiing if you want to fitness train on the more challenging, longer loops or simply potter as a family on the 3km trail and stop to picnic in the "bowl" if the weather is good.

The trails start and finish by Sinnes school. The 3 km loop is good training for beginners; the 5 km loop has a more challenging extension; the 7 and 10 km loops go over the tops with some steep up and down slopes.
