Sogndalsstrand near Hauge i Dalene

This small village idyllically set beside the fjord is a place of cultural heritage. It was an old trading post and has protected old wooden buildings dating back to the 1700s. It is a fascinating place to stroll through.

the famous seahouses In the mid 1800s Sogndalsstrand was a thriving community with over 20 businesses.
Many of the buildings are now owned by the culture hotel whose aim is to bring new life back into the old town. Other buildings are again being used as workshops or galleries.

By car:
Drive south from Stavanger on the E39 to Heskestad. Turn right onto 501 to Hauge and Sokndal. Just before Sokndal turn right to Sokndals-strand.
