Tjørhomfjellet skiing chairlift
Sirdal
Alpint opened a four-seat express chair-lift to take you high up into
the snow in January 2006. This was the first chair lift in Sirdal, with a
lift capacity of 2400 people per hour - the
queue-buster that Sirdal had been needing. |

The
chair lift is 1500m long, with the main run down being 2 kilometers long.
There are several alternate routes, with a lot of potential off-piste
skiing. It is now possible to ski from the chairlift into Ålsheia using a new lift, and you can ski back again, and down to the bottom of the chairlift. This side of the resort is for more advanced skiers. There is also a family area called Huldreheimen with button lift, rope tow for beginners and sledging area. This is also where the ski hire shop is located. Travel time from Stavanger:
1.5 hours by car Duration of the visit: 1 day or more Facilities: Carpark, Toilets, Is-slottet afterski and cafe, Ski hire, Ski instructors. Licenced bar after 16.00 Kids verdict: this is fun - but not really for beginners. Keep it quiet, but going off-piste is GREAT!
