Sauda in Ryfylke near Stavanger Norway

Sauda is a popular ski destination 2 or 3 hours by fast boat or 3 - 4 hours by car from Stavanger on the west coast of Norway. It is the biggest skiing centre of the Ryfylke area and Rogaland county, north of Stavanger. Sauda Skisenter Svandalen can be reached as a long daytrip by ski boat and bus
There are three hotels in the area - two in Sauda itself and the other by the fjord at the bottom of the road up to the skisenter. There are also hyttes and apartments available - or stay in Stavanger.
Sauda is a regional centre and industrial town so there is quite a range of shops
In the summer the FV 520 Ryfylkeveien road over the mountains to Røldal is open - in the winter the road ends a few km north-east of Sauda.
